A relatively quiet day in Ghana yesterday, at least compared with some of the exciting games earlier in the tournament. In Group D, one of the hardest groups to call, each of the four teams picked up a point after two intriguing, if not scintillating, draws.
Tunisia 2-2 Senegal Senegal were denied the win their attack-minded performance merited, when Tunisia’s Mejdi Traoui scored in the 82nd minute with a fierce, unstoppable strike from 25 yards out. El Hadji Diouf, Senegal’s captain, missed several good chances to score.

Angola 1-1 South Africa This was a fairly snooze-inducing game, lit up by a couple of fine goals. Angola took the lead in the first half, against the run of play, through a diving header by Manucho, who has just been signed by Man Utd. The 2010 World Cup hosts equalised late on in the second half, via Elrio van Heerden’s powerful strike.
