The perfect manager for Newcastle? It’s not Alan Shearer (no experience) or Kevin Keegan (a ghost from the past), but Jose Mourinho.
Mourinho is strong enough to slag off his own fans when they don’t make enough noise. That’s what Newcastle need, someone who would do things his way, without interference from the fans, or chairman or owner or the local press. Someone who wouldn’t give the club too much respect, in other words.
Jose loves a challenge, and the Newcastle job is just that, and then some. Mike Ashley should do everything in his power to hire Mourinho – Jose’s teams don’t play entertaining football, but he does get results. Once installed, Mourinho should then ban any talk around St James’ Park of past legends like ‘Oor’ Jackie Milburn or Big Alan. Looking forward is the only way for Newcastle to succeed.
