Courtesy of a hat-trick from Demba Ba against the club he came within a dodgy knee scan of joining last January, Newcastle beat Stoke 3-1 on their own patch last night to climb up to the nosebleeds of the Premier League table – ending the evening in third place, a single point behind Manchester United in second, meaning that Toon could climb to second should things go their way on Saturday!

It hasn’t been a bad old start for Pards has it? I mean, just look at his face!

@Chimpo – we were wary of Pardew’s appointment on the basis that he appeared, on the face of it, to simply be a puppet for MA. Over the last few months, he has worked wonders with the squad that we have and for that we are grateful.

However, given MA’s dubious record whilst at the club, he will probably sack Pardew if we don’t get nine points out of our forthcoming fixtures against Manchester City, Manchester United and Chelsea and appoint Shola Ameobi as stand-in manager.

Shola Ameobi…reminds me of Dave from Newcastle.

BLOODY DEMBA BA! why did we have to get relegated! not only did we lose him but we didn’t even get a fee for him! he’s a great player – real shame that we couldn’t stay up and keep him :(

Good start, however a run coming up with United/City/Chelsk….I see 9 dropped points there.
