The work of those intrepid souls over at Sporting Intelligence, this ‘ere infographic represents the nationalities of every single player in ever single Premier League squad (correct as of Saturday 10th August), with one flag corresponding to one player (click through for the full-size image)…

Apparently as and when Victor Wanyama makes his league debut for Southampton, Kenyan will become the 100th separate “foreign” nationality (i.e, aside from English, Northern Irish, Scottish or Wales-ish) to have an international player turn out in the Premier League.

Also, Fulham currently have the most different nationalities in their first-team squad with 19, while Norwich have fewest with nine.

If you want to immerse yourself further, we urge you to visit Sporting Intelligence and have a gander at their raft of other fascinating nationality stats and tables.

It’s all premium stuff.

Is it just me or are there no Russian flags?

And who says the premier league is being taken over by foreigners?

  3. Squid Dip says:

Has Russia actually got any representation in the Premier League? As shocking as it is, I can’t think of a single Russian in the league. Also, what’s that rogue Czech Republic flag doing in the middle of the Philippine Sea?

  4. Toz says:

So much fail: No Ukraine, no Russia, no Albania, no Canada, no China?

If you look closer that’s actually the Philippines flag. The one player that represents that flag is Neil Etheridge(GK for Fulham)

Always wanted to visit the Czech Republic. After looking at that map I now know it is south of Germany not east as I previously though. Now I can finally be on my way.

Who are the two New Zealand players?
