The end of the Premier League season is marked by all Premier League footballer, however good or bad they’ve played, navigating the lap of honour, their kids taking penalties on the hallowed turf and bonuses.

Leicester City’s players, for instance, will share an extra £6million if they defeat Queens Park Rangers in their final game. Finish 14th or higher and the £5million already in the kitty swells by a cool million.

That works out a £315,000 each.

And that triggers another end-of-season tradition: the race to the supercar showroom.

PS: England’s World Cup winning team of 1966 shared a bonus of £22,000 split evenly between squad members. In today’s money, that equates to 380,399.69 – or just over £17,290 a man.
