Cristiano Ronaldo has been a busy boy of late, both opening a museum and an entire social media network dedicated to his favouritest subject in the whole wide world: Cristiano Ronaldo.

Ronaldo’s ‘CR7 Museum’ in his hometown of Funchal on the Portuguese island of Madeira had its big opening on Sunday, with the man himself doing the honours before letting the first batch of fans in for a shufty.

Real Madrid also sent a photographer along, providing the club’s website with a photographic tour of the displays on offer, including various photos, a life-size waxwork, his 26 hat-trick matchballs and Cristiano’s vast personal trophy haul – though, rather tellingly, the display cabinet actually has a space specifically left in it for the 2013 Ballon d’Or.

Indeed, speaking to the press at the function, Ronaldo told Reuters: “I have room for more trophies. I don’t really want to mention specific ones. All I want is to win more awards and, if the Ballon d’Or comes, there is extra room here.”

Is this really necessary? For Christ sakes he’s not a living event, he’s a goddamn model. If he hasn’t already fallen in love with himself, you think this will make him more humble? Now the world gets to see less play and more whine and bitch like the spoiled child that he is in the pitch. Also what the hell has he done for the world? Why can’t they spend money on more important things than to honor someone who is absolutely obsessed with himself.

  12. Lauren says:

Okay world, is this REALLY necessary? This man is not a living legend he’s a good footballer that is all. He sings dedicated to anyone but himself and now something like this is just going to propel him further into his own self obsession. Can he look anymore self absorbed? Like c’mon, he hasn’t even done anything good for the world except a few pretty pictures and some hat tricks and they feel the need to honor him in such a wasteful way? For Christ sakes he’s a fucking athlete, who by the way, will be even more of a pre Madonna due to this idiotic idea. Good luck anyone who has to play alongside him.
