Having been commissioned by Betfair to liven up the streets of east London, Brazilian street artist Cranio – famous in his native land for his blue indigenous figures – recently daubed a series of impressive World Cup-themed scenes on a vacant wall, depicting Neymar’s first goal at the tournament, Robin van Persie’s corking diving header against Spain and Guillermo Ochoa’s heroic none-shall-pass shift against Brazil…

The plan was to leave a fourth space free and have fans vote to decide which tournament-defining scene they wanted Cranio to immortalise come the end of the World Cup.

However those plans are now on hold after all of Cranio’s work was vandalised by anti-FIFA protestors yesterday, who crept up in the dead of night and sprayed “CORRUPT BLATTER” across the length and breadth of the whole thing…
