Some sneaky, behind-the-scenes pics of Fabio Capello and his England boys preparing for tomorrow’s Euro 2012 qualifier at Wembley:

So no John Terry for England (meh), but the big question for me is about another centre-back: was it the right decision to hand back the armband to Rio Ferdinand, especially in light of Steven Gerrard’s superb recent form for England? With Rio’s body knackered these days, I think Gerrard should have remained as captain; there’s much more chance Gerrard, not Rio, will be in the starting XI in Poland & Ukraine. If it ain’t broke etc. etc.

What say you?

by the looks of the english injury dryspell, stevie g will have his armband back after the next game

  3. Liam says:

The only reason Ferdinand was given the captaincy was because Capello didn’t want to go back on his word. I don’t understand the logic behind it however, considering Ferdinand doesn’t even captain his club team and struggles to play regularly. Everyone know it belongs to Gerrard after his last few performances. Ferdinand will be injured soon anyway, but if he doesn’t, here’s hoping he performs poorly so Capello realises his mistake.

but to be fair, cappello probably knows that this stevie g sex scandal will come out soon
