Real Madrid have now officially gone longer without scoring a single goal than at any other point in the club’s long and vaunted history.
With the passing of the 55-minute mark during Saturday’s match against Levante, Julen Lopetegui’s shot-shy team racked up their 464th consecutive minute without troubling the opposition’s net.
That, believe it or not, is the longest drought in Los Blancos’ entire 116 years of existence.
If Real Madrid don’t score within the first 55 minutes of today’s game against Levante, it will be the longest goalless run in their 116 year history.

The previous record was set in 1985.
Just to make it even worse, Real are currently trailing 2-0 to Levante (having conceded twice within the first 12 minutes) with roughly 20 minutes left to play at the Bernabeu – this despite rattling off 22 attempts on goal to the visitor’s five.
All is not well.
