Celtic rampaged to their seventh straight Scottish Premiership title on Sunday afternoon with a 5-0 evisceration of Rangers, the team who are supposedly their nearest rivals.

Over the course of the afternoon, defender Mikael Lustig cemented his place as a Bhoys fan favourite – quite literally capping it off with his celebrations for James Forrest’s goal, Celtic’s third of the game.

Indeed, the Swedish centre-half stole a policeman’s hat and donned it himself as he charged over to the touchline to cavort with his teammates.

The spur-of-the-moment hat lark seemed to go down well with most people in attendance, though the local constabulary were altogether less enamoured.

According to the Daily Record, Police Scotland were “very disappointed” with Lustig and his spontaneous thievery and have since had a word with Celtic about their players’ future conduct:

We are very disappointed with the player’s actions and have spoken to Celtic Football Club who will deal with the matter internally.

No further action will be taken by Police Scotland in regards to this.

Flipping heck chaps, lighten up.
