Young Gunner Henri Lansbury, currently on loan with West Ham United, has a habit of grabbing the headlines. Just recently, the gifted midfielder was deputising (rather well) in goal for the Hammers but against Belgium U21s on Wednesday night, Lansbury scored a rather spectacular goal early on.

To be perfectly honest, it does look like an overhit cross which takes a tiny deflection of the defender, but it’s still well worth a look.

England’s young guns seemed to enjoy their first game without Stuart Pearce at the helm, winning 4-0 courtesy of a brace from Lansbury and goals from Steven Caulker and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain (from the penalty spot).

The way he hangs back and how he’s not looking for a teammate gives me a slight idea that it was eitherway intended as an attempt on goal or at least a sharp cross aimed at goal with the desire of a teammate going in for the final touch. Anyhow, very well struck.

    Looked like a cross.

Yeah he was in too much of a rush and it looks like he had a look at his strikers in the box, not the keeper. Poor crossing.

Love the commentator referring to him as Messi at the end of the video. Not to sure about that.
