Spain Soccer Super Cup

The game itself was borderline unwatchable due to the relentless use of shamefully shameless gamesmanship, crowding the referee, etc, by players from both sides, but David Villa’s opening goal in the first leg of the Spanish Super Cup was anything but, with the former Barcelona forward slicing in a superbly executed volley to give Atletico Madrid the lead in the 12th minute at the Vicente Calderon…

And again, in infinite GIF form…

Absolutely gorgeous. Innate class like that has no business costing just £2.5million!

As for the gamesmanship (or “cheating” as we like to call it), just get a load of this miserable feigning from Jordi Alba after having his hair ruffled by Diego Costa…

*Sigh*

These are grown men.

Looks like Alba’s been spending too long a time with Busquets.

see busquets try and pull that card out of the refs pocket? i wouldve red carded him right there purely on principle.

This kind of “gamesmanship” and referee-crowding has been entirely too common within the Barca camp, and I’m honestly done with people incessantly bragging about “beautiful football” that has been branded to Barca. They move the ball well and provide some excellent skill, but they have this ridiculous emotional overload when anyone dares challenge the tiki-taka. It’s as if they just want to have a kickaround in the Spanish league.

    Dat teamwork
