Over in the Campeonato Potiguar (the regional Brazilian league for the state of Rio Grande do Norte), America RN beat table-toppers Globo to take themselves into second in the standings courtesy of a goal apiece from youngsters Dener and Arthur Maia – the latter’s being a thing of true, super direct beauty.

Having picked up the ball on the edge of his own area, Arthur Maia set off on a lightning break down the centre of the pitch, yomping some 70-odd yards at full tilt while bobbing and weaving past several defenders before rolling a calm finish past the Globo ‘keeper to seal his goooooooooooooooooooooooool
