While he may not be competing at Barcelona-esque levels these days, Xavi has proved that he’s not simply fobbing it off as he tops up his pension pot out in Qatar.

Now aged 36 and almost two years removed from his spiritual home at the Camp Nou, the diminutive maestro looks as nimble and fluid as ever, as this wonderful highlight reel of his 2015/16 season with Al-Sadd duly attests.

The feints, the turns, the awareness, the metronomic passing – all in the name of retaining the ball and keeping it moving. It’s all still there and, of course, it’s still an absolute joy to behold.

Basically, what you’re about to see is 10 uninterrupted minutes of midfield play in its purest form…

Bonito. Consider that you’re little Friday afternoon treat from Pies.

You’re welcome.

What’s more impressive are all those empty seats. If you build it they won’t always come

    Therapeutic.

He never did have much in the way of pace. He looks like he could dominate there for another decade or so.

  3. DEEEEE says:

Those al aqeada boys can’t play football worth a shit

The kits, especially the white, make him look almost Realistic.

Can’t get tired of that passing quality (but that finishing skills in the 1st half of the video are just as bad as the passing is good)
