MK Dons Under-18s pinched themselves a late, late 1-0 win over Cardiff City in the third round of FA Youth Cup at Stadium:MK on Tuesday evening.
The decisive goal came in the 87th minute when a loose clearance dropped to MK left-back Tommy Hope quite a distance beyond the far post.
What followed was a truly tremendous volley which buzzed past Cardiff ‘keeper George Ratcliffe before he could react and clonked in off the underside of the crossbar for good measure…
What a connection. Nigh-on Zidane-esque. Where there’s Hope, etc, etc…
The thunderous goal saw MK Dons make it into the fourth round of the FA Youth Cup for the first time in their albeit truncated history, where either Colchester or Crewe will be lying in wait.
