Burgos Striker Jorge Troiteiro Bobs And Weaves, Scores ‘Messi-Esque’ Corker (Video)

By Chris Wright

In which Burgos (of the Spanish lower leagues) forward Jorge Troiteiro proves that you just can’t beat a good drag-back…or two, weaving his way past Tordesillas’ repeatedly wrong-footed back-line before sticking a shot through the keeper’s legs for good measure…

Just to add a bit of extra gravitas to the whole shebang, Troitero’s goal also rescued a point for Burgos with a minute left to play.

Messi eat your heart out.

For those who don’t know, Troitero joined La Masia (FC Barcelona’s youth academy) along with a another young fella named Andres Iniesta being both just 12 years old… To many people they were the best two prospects in Spanish football at their age. However, for whatever reasons -sometimes it’s just a matter of luck- he did not make it to Barca 1st squad or ended up winning a World Cup… but he has been a regular in 2A (equivalent to Championship) teams and makes a living out of football. Defending was poor, all right, but you can’t deny he’s a talented player that never made it to the top.
