Would you just have a butcher’s at Andres Iniesta’s opening goal in their 2-0 win over Viktoria Plzen last night? Depressingly, it’s just the latest in Barcelona’s ever-lengthening canon of exquisitely effortless team goals…

While we’re on the subject, here’s Lionel Messi’s ‘ball on a string’ cabaret act from the same game thrown in for good measure…

I’m fairly sure that isn’t actually possible.

You wouldn’t catch Stoke playing that ‘light on your feet’ style of football

  2. Toji says:

You wouldn’t find Stoke winning the Champion’s League either! Lol!

  3. Krsta says:

Aye, but could Barcelona be so dominant on a cold evening in Stoke? :P

  4. Stewart says:

Barca have somehow managed to translate that no pressure, training ground casual excellence into match day execution.

I suspect some kind of mass team hypnosis where the Spanish equivalent of Derren Brown makes them all believe that there’s no one watching so anything goes. And then when they come off the pitch he says, back in the room and is this your watch sir?

Hi, I really think your blog is a great example of how to show support for the lovely game of football. With that in mind I’m contacting you on behalf of EA Sports. It’d be great to get you involved in our launch of the world’s biggest football video game- FIFA 12. To celebrate the launch, we’re going to knit the world’s longest fan scarf made up of the words of fans supporting their clubs. You and your readers have a chance to be part of football history while supporting your club or showing support for the game of football. We’ve also got a free game to give away and your very own personalised scarf. Please let me know how I can contact you so I can send you the details. Looking forward to hearing from you.

    Cheers

Iniesta is SO underrated. The pass from Messi wasn’t as spectacular as it normally is but Iniesta was able to make a masterpiece out of it. Love that guy!

  8. Charlie Adam says:

Hahaha, I bet EA Sports frequently refers to “the lovely game of football.”
