Once a stalwart of Stoke City’s frontline, gangly striker Peter Crouch has found himself on the sidelines as Mark Hughes’ side continues its impressive metamorphosis from long-ball hoofers to silky passers. However, after the Potters superb 4-3 win against Everton on Monday, the former England man Tweeted a classy line in self-effacement.
Stoke’s victory was topped off by Xherdan Shaqiri’s magnificent first-time effort which will surely be a contender for Goal of the Season. And after watching on from the stands once again, Crouch applauded his team-mates’ entertaining performance with this rather lovely Tweet…
Incredible performance boys ! No wonder I can’t get a run out 👍🏻😢 #STKEVE

Crouch does seem like a rather nice chap, doesn’t he?! As for the re-imagined Stoke, how long before the likes of Manchester United come sniffing around for Mark Hughes?
