Sunderland finally managed to plunder themselves a victory last night by beating Crystal Palace 3-1 (their first win on a Monday since April 2002, fact fans) to haul themselves up out of the relegation zone.

However, it looked like the Black Cats were headed back down Crap Alley at one point, when poor old Wes Brown equalised for Palace with a bumbling own-goal – an own-goal which hit ‘keeper Costel Pantilimon hardest of all!

Imagine Barber’s Adagio for Strings kicking in at the 15-second mark for full effect…

Here’s another fun fact for you: Sunderland have now scored more own-goals (10) since August of 2013 than any of their players have individually managed to score at the right end.

Rubbish.
