With the news that Dick Advocaat has U-turned on his retirement plans and signed up for one more year on Wearside after being pestered into it, grateful Sunderland fans have decided to show their appreciation by clubbing together to buy his wife some flowers.

Advocaat had previously gone on record that his wife would divorce him if he’d stayed in England beyond June, but it seems her stance has softened since the Dutchman successfully managed to stave off the drop.

In return, a group of Black Cats fans attempted to raise £150 to buy Mrs Advocaat a bunch of flowers. Users of the Sunderland Message Board say they set it up “to give Mrs Advocaat a big thank you for giving us another year of the Little General!”

However, the GoFundMe drive has since gone on to raise over £2,000 (they really do bloody love him, those Mackems!).

The best part? Fans in charge have since announced that any money raised beyond the £150 mark will be split between the SAFC Foundation and a charity of Mrs Advocaat’s choice.

Lovely stuff.

The same people who complain that “their” club is pricing them out the game every year are the same retards who donate their money to buy flowers for the wife of a multi, mutli-millionaire. Idiots.

Oh how hilarious it would be if Sunderland were relegated by easter. How they’d love him then!… Looks like it’s “let’s just try and survive for another year” with this short term appointment. And now another year of having to endure the gormless fucktard that is Nial Quinn.
