Jermain Defoe

Jermain Defoe is a busy man. In fact, he’s so gosh-darn busy that he apparently needs a new executive personal assistant to help keep his affairs in order.

The Sunderland striker has posted a job listing online advertising for a new assistant, and to call the role ‘demanding’ is something of an understatement.

Not only is the PA expected to fulfil all the usual day-to-day PA duties (answering phone calls, stocking the fridge, sourcing interior designers, organising Father’s Day, producing iPhone apps, etc) for Defoe and all his family, but the successful candidate is also apparently expected to help to build Defoe – yes, Jermain Defoe of Sunderland – into a global brand with a clothing line and a personalised fragrance.

Here’s the job description in full, as posted on SECS In The City

On call 24/7 just to top it all off? Where do we sign up?

Just to reiterate: Jermain Defoe is a Sunderland striker. Jermain Defoe is never going to be a global brand.

(Thanks to Pies fan @dvdmcn for the tip-off!)

I’d sooner take the gig cooking for Jonjo Shelvey, at least Shelvey didn’t threaten applicants with ‘a small office environment’.

Still, I feel I’ve learnt a bit about Defoe. Thanks Pies!

  2. Bob says:

Surely proof reading should be part of the job description. You would hope the office manager or whoever put the ad out could spell his main sponsor anyway.

  3. David Hoffenheim says:

Jeees that seems like an awful lot of work!

  4. James Taylor says:

The ad manages to misspell “addidas”.

  5. Straight Dave says:

I like the way Jermain has kept himself grounded after becoming a professional footballer. It’s admirable.
