Cristhian Stuani was the star of the show as Middlesbrough met Sunderland for the first league Wear-Tyne derby in over seven years. The Uruguayan bagged a brace in the game at the Stadium of Light, including a cracking long-range opener.

Stuani’s opener came after just 13 minutes and it was quite a strike, with the striker arrowing home a fierce right-footed effort.

Both Stuani’s goals in the game were assisted by Spaniard Alvaro Negredo, with the second coming on 45 minutes after some fantastic interplay from Aitor Karanka’s charges.

Here’s both goals…

After a poor first-half, Sunderland got one back after the break through Patrick van Aanholt. However, in the end David Moyes’ side couldn’t complete the comeback with ‘Boro securing a vital win.
