Tottenham Hotspur 2-1 Everton – Premier League – 30th November 2014

Misfiring striker Roberto Soldado finally rediscovered his shooting boots at White Hart Lane on Sunday, netting his first league goal of the season and helping Spurs to a hard-fought win against Everton.

Kevin Mirallas opened the scoring on 15 minutes, courtesy of an outstanding long-range effort. However, the Lilywhites were soon back on level terms when playmaker Christian Eriksen netted after a Harry Kane effort was saved by Tim Howard. Kane then had  a hand in the hosts winner on the stroke of half-time, robbing Gareth Barry before feeding Aaron Lennon who, in turn, set up Soldado who ended his goal-drought. The visitors should have had a penalty when Federico Fazio handled the ball but in the end they’d come away from the Lane with nothing to show for their work.

The win sees the north Londoners move seventh, level on points with rivals Arsenal while Roberto Martinez’s inconsistent Toffees are 10th.
