In Pies’ continuing, semi-regular efforts to bring you the very worst of the low-rent tat that your beloved football club will happily flog you, here’s Tottenham’s attempt to gee up their fans before Sunday’s sort of medium-sized bash at Wembley.
Following on the back of the re-release of Chas & Dave’s timeless 1987 FA Cup Final anthem ‘Hot Shot Tottenham’ (with updated lyrics for 2015!), Spurs have taken their Capital One Cup preparations up a notch by releasing a ‘Wembley Cup Final Party Toolkit’ designed specifically for fans worldwide who won’t be able to make it to Wembley at the weekend.
Tottenham duo Eric Dier and Kyle Walker have been press-ganged into starring in the cringe-inducing trailer, running us through the contents of the downloadable toolkit which contains all the necessary schematics for Spurs fans to throw a party of their own – including printable invitations and bunting, recipes for cup-themed party food and even cut-out-and-keep player masks…
Ever so slightly embarrassing, we reckon.
After all, it’s the League Cup and nobody cares about the League Cup.
