Following swiftly in the footsteps of yesterday’s Champions League group stage draw comes the knock-down, cut-price, bargain-basement, soiled-seconds Europa League equivalent.

The mini footballs of fate have all been retrieved from the perspex goldfish bowls of destiny and ergo the draw looks like this…

So firstly we’ve got Tottenham against Monaco in the eternal Glenn Hoddle Derby…

Spurs then face a long-haul away trip to Azerbaijan to face Qarabag, but should still fancy their chances of making it through to the next round, as should Liverpool – provided both clubs take it seriously, of course.

Great, Celtic again. I can’t wait for drunk obnoxious fat Scots causing a mess in town and then pretend they were the victims all along.

Actually a LOT of quality squads in there. I’ve come to despise the Champions League, always the same damn teams, who just happen to be miles richer than everyone else, in there. Flat don’t care. There are some truly great matchups in the Europa League though. Hell, the stadium atmosphere’s ALONE make Group A maybe the best in European competition during either group stage.
