Tottenham Hotspur 4-1 West Ham United – Premier League – 22nd November 2015

A Harry Kane brace helped Tottenham to an impressive 4-1 home win against West Ham on Sunday, a victory which sees the Lilywhites equal a club record 12-game unbeaten run in the Premier League.

Dele Alli shone once again in midfield, with the England youngster involved in Kane’s opener, which came on 23 minutes. 10 minutes later, the Lilywhites doubled their lead when Toby Alderweireld headed home from a corner. The Hammers were struggling badly without their injured playmaker Dmitri Payet, and should have gone 3-0 down just before the break, only for Kane to miscue when through on goal.

Soon after the restart, the visitors did go 3-0 down when Kane capitalised on some dismal play from both James Tomkins and ‘keeper Adrian, who let the striker’s shot squeeze under his body. Cheikhou Kouyate did hit the crossbar for the Hammers but it was Spurs who would score yet again, this time with Kyle Walker producing a fine strike with the outside of his boot.

Manuel Lanzini did get a late consolation goal for Slaven Bilic’s side, but they were well beaten by a Tottenham side who now find themselves in fifth spot, just four points off the top. As for West Ham, they stay sixth.
