Despite failing to beat strugglers Aston Villa in the late game on Saturday at Villa Park, high-flying Leicester City still managed to regain their place atop the Premier League table, with the Foxes now a point ahead of Arsenal, who play on Sunday.
The return of Claudio Ranieri’s side to the top of the Premier League, courtesy of Shinji Okazaki’s goal (which was ultimately cancelled out by Rudy Gestede) prompted stats gurus Opta into Tweeting a rather superb fact which won’t have made Tottenham fans very happy…
33 – Leicester City will now be top of the PL for 33 days in 2015-16, the same number that Spurs have been top in total since 1992. Serious.

The Tweet was picked up by much of the footballing side of Twitter, with the BBC pondering the origins of the Spurs-baiting fact…
Unsurprisingly, the stat was rather popular among Twitter’s very sizeable Arsenal legions. However, the fact will be all the more amusing if it’s Tottenham themselves who go on to win the Premier League this season.
