Tottenham’s Champions League dreams came to a crushing halt on Tuesday, with the Lilywhites losing 2-1 away at Monaco, a result which sees them now unable to qualify for the last 16.
However, once again, despite the poor result, goalkeeper Hugo Lloris produced a superb solo performance which included one of the saves of the season.
With Bayer Leverkuson drawing away to CSKA Moscow, Spurs needed at least a point at the Stade Louis II to stay in the hunt for a place in the knockout stages. However, the Premier League side were second best throughout the game.
In-form striker Falcao saw his penalty saved superbyl by Lloris in the first period as the hosts pushed for the opener.

Djibril Sidibe gave the hosts a deserved lead early in the second-half, but the visitors got themselves level soon after, with Harry Kane firing home a penalty.
However, the Lilywhites would stay level for only 39 seconds, when Thomas Lemar put Monaco ahead again.
That goal would ultimately send Spurs out of the competition, but the highlight of the game for the Lilywhites’ was the performance of Lloris, with this save from Kamil Glick the pick of the bunch…
