All the pink tape in all the world can’t hold Gareth Bale together this time

Tottenham have confirmed this afternoon that Gareth Bale will definitely not be reproduce a repeat of his one-man Milanese demolition job against AC Milan on Tuesday night, as the Welsh winger has not travelled to Italy with the rest of the squad for Spurs’ Champions League second-round clash after failing to recover from a back injury.

The blow comes despite manager Harry Redknapp seeming to waiver on his pessimistic assessment of Bale’s fitness (or lack thereof) directly after Saturday’s win over Sunderland.

However, there is a bit of good news concerning Spurs’ current injury woes after the club also confirmed that both Peter Crouch and Rafael van der Vaart all flew out to Milan this morning and are expected to recover from their respective knocks in time to take the field against the Rossoneri tomorrow evening – though playmaker Luka Modric is not expected to be back after having his appendix removed just 12 days ago.

Capiche?
