Oh, what a wierd and wonderful world football is. Days after signing a contract with Chinese Super League side Shanghai Shenua, Didier Drogba is to fly into Barcelona this afternoon ahead of a meeting with the club’s directors on Wednesday morning.

There are conflicting stories circulating, but several Spanish media outlets are reporting that Drogba had a clause inserted into his £200,000-a-week Shenua contract that stated he could leave for Barcelona and Barcelona only should the Catalan side come a-callin’ – which is, you don’t need us to tell you, completely barmy.

Of course, whether Barca actually want or need him seems to have been entirely glossed over at this point, which is all good by our reckoning – let the madness reign!

Camp Drog says:

“That’ll teach you not to lay on a complimentary Crab Rangoon platter you BITCHESSSSSS!!!”

Well at the same time there are those who claim that Barcelona have rejected him out right for his exuberant wage demands.

  7. Miami Mike says:

He was here with Messi in Miami playing in some promotional game. The Barcelona players (Messi, Masche, Pinto, Alves)and some Barcelona business people had a private plane fly them back to Barcelona today. Drogba went with them. He’ll be trying to touch them up to get the Qatar Foundation to sponsor him for some charity work in Africa. End of fantasy story.

Tis truly is the crazy season! Would be beautiful seeing him linking up with Messi, Villa, Iniesta, et al cos he really will be THE plan B for Barca. Plus how much will that piss Jose off at Real?

And yes, I’ve missed Camp Drog terribly.
