L’Equipe are reporting this morning that Chelsea are on the cusp of signing their second Hazard of the summer, with Eden’s 19-year old little brother Thorgan close to agreeing a deal to move to Stamford Bridge.

Thorgan Hazard? What. A. Name.

“THORGAN’S ALIVE?!?”

‘The Hazard Bros’ sounds like one of the great lost Tag Teams from the golden age of WCW.

Anyway, back to brass tacks. Currently on the fringes of the RC Lens first team in France’s Ligue 2, Hazard the Younger hardly had a sniff last season though he’s mucked in for Belgium’s U19s a fair few times – indeed, Eden has done his bit to put his l’il bro over in the past, admitting that he has far better technique.

There are also suggestions that Thorgan’s imminent move to Chelsea may have been written into the small print of Eden’s whopping £32 million move from Lille, though quite how or why a clause like that would be added we’re not entirely sure.

Given Chelsea’s recruitment policy this summer, it should come as no surprise to learn that young Thorgan is a flighty attacking midfielder who plays just off the front, meaning he’ll be in very good company at the Bridge alongside his brother, Kevin de Bruyne, Juan Mata, Oscar (Chelsea have agreed a fee with Internacional believed to be upwards of £25 million), Marko Marin, Daniel Sturridge, etc, etc.

In short, he’ll get about five minutes in the first round of the League Cup next season.

Hey ho. Here’s a little glimpse at the boy in action…
