Don’t stare directly into it, you’ll go blind

Birmingham City are close to agreeing an £11 million deal with Estudiantes for their prolific Argentinian striker Mauro Boselli.

Birmingham have already had an £8 million bid refused for the forward by Estudiantes who are holding out for as big a windfall as possible to maximise their profit. This is due to the fact that half of the fee will go to Boselli’s former club (Boca Juniors) due to a clause in the 24 year old’s current contract.

Brum are also on the brink of signing Aruna Dindane in a £4 million deal from his parent club Lens. The 29 year old Ivorian is currently on loan at Portsmouth but Lens are keen to recall the striker as the financial instability at Pompey worsens.

If both of these deals materialise then it would probably see Alex McLeish end his interest in Tottenham forward Roman Pavlyuchenko. Spurs turned down another £8 million bid from Birmingham yesterday and it seems that ‘Big Eck’ has now turned his sights elsewhere.
