AS Monaco staged a mass player unveiling yesterday as they presented the £120bajillion’s worth of talent they’ve already bought in over the course of the past two months to the world, with Radamel Falcao looking every inch the swarthy Riviera playboy as he held his new work clothes up for the cameras…

Along with Falcao, Monaco also introduced Joao Moutinho, James Rodriguez, Jeremy Toulalan, Eric Abidal, Ricardo Carvalho and Nicolas Isimat Mirin…

He looks like an extra from Scarface

Radamel Falcao…..why oh why?? You really have disappointed me….
i can totally understand the appeal for a player nearing the end of his career to go somewhere like monaco with it picturesque city etc….
But for who i considered to be one of the top strikers in the world, who isnt even in his prime yet (only 27 years old!) and could easily walk into one of the big teams in England Germany and Spain, for him to go and play for a team in the French League (and i mean no disrespect in saying this) just seems a waste of great talent!
Surely money was no object to him so why can this be?? an epic fail on him in my book……..

I agree with what you are saying Jay, a true professional wants to perform at the top level and Ligue 1 just isn’t that.

On the flip side, he will be getting paid a premium and living in Monaco! Enough said lol

@Jay: I don’t think it was entirely his decision tbh.

Everybody’s nagging about every new club with investors, that’s how it went with Robinho and City, Zlatan and PSG and even Chelski back in the day. But in the end all of these teams made a contribution and got results. And I guess AS Monaco will do the same. I guess money guarantees happiness after all.

I think you’re underrating Ligue 1 a little, and with the investment in PSG and Monaco it’s likely to get even better, at least at the top. And for Falcao he’ll (probably) have the Zlatan-Cavani combination to measure himself against.
I understand the concern from other clubs that they’ll be priced out of the competition but that’s pretty much the case everywhere. Is anyone other than Bayern likely to win in Germany, or Barcelona and Real Madrid in Spain? In England there’s maybe a chance for Arsenal if the promised spending happens but otherwise it’s going to be between the Manchester clubs and Chelsea.
