Soccer - Steven Gerrard Testimonial - Liverpool v Olympiacos - Anfield

In what is ostensibly looking like a rather meagre, deflating pay-off to one of the biggest transfer hoo-has of the summer, Luis Suarez has reportedly confided in a Uruguayan newspaper El Observador that he now wishes to stay with Liverpool next season “due to the affection of the people”.

According to Uruguayan journalist Martin Charquero, Suarez has told him that he won’t be toddling off elsewhere anytime soon, saying, “For now, due to all of the people’s affection, I will be staying.”

Believe that if you so choose.

Yes “the affection of the fans” – more like hes now realised no amount of moaning, crying or even putting in a transfer request can get past the fact that if liverpool dont want to sell then hes stuck there. seems the same things happening with rooney aswell, talk is that he is definately not leaving. Good to see the power being taken away from these overpaid, egotistical w*nkers. footballers are really puttin me off the game these days

Today during collective interview, Suarez DENIED ever saying wanting to stay at LFC.

Feel bad for the fans. What a train wreck of a transfer season for them.
