@Arsenal just Tweeted this little pearl out to their 2.6million followers…

arsenal

Solid gold timing there chaps! Sheesh, talk about misjudging the room. Seriously, who in the Arsenal social media department decided to issue that today? Are the club as a whole actually that oblivious?

Unsurprisingly, there has been what you could politely describe as “venomous backlash” to the Arsenal’s big, smiley announcement since it was posted, with many Gooners immediately requesting that the club shove their lottery up their trumpet and spend the £17.3million jackpot on ACTUALLY ACQUIRING SOME PROFESSIONAL FOOTBALLERS.

In related news, it’s also been announced today that Lukas Podolski will be sidelined for 10 – ten – weeks with the hamstring injury he picked up against Fenebarhce in the Champions League earlier in the week. Yeah, the guy who’s stood front and centre up there, grinning from ear to ear.

It never rains, etc, etc…

We are all anticipating good news Re: World Class Players Signing, not just linked and the wise-men at AFC wants to entice us with gambling.

The fan that said, No pies, No pint, No programmes is more in touch with the feelings of Arsenal fans.

  2. One Man Went to Mow says:

Well at least they didn’t put Podolski front and centre of that poster.

  3. Spectrum says:

“The good news that we’ve been waiting for” ? I didn’t know Wenger had left the club.

    ” In Arsene we rust.”

  4. isaac amani says:

the good news being awaited for is no signings and wenger still talking big without world class or big name.

a bit of american news that may be of interest: the houston astros, a “professional” baseball team and league laughing-stock with a horrid record, are having the most fiscally-successful year of any american sports club ever. $99 million in revenue while no one attends the games and no one watches them on television. don’t be surprised if the arsenal brass are still pleased when the gunners slip further down the standings, and that they realize a happy medium when their team drifts around the drop-zone and rakes in the highest profits. if you’re a fan of the arsenal, i respect you but feel badly for you, because you were unlucky in getting shit ownership with businessmen in the front office instead of fans of athletic competition. be thankful you have wenger, he keeps your team afloat more than you give him credit for. also, your kits are lovely.

THE P R AT THE ARSENAL STINKS.THE FANS ARE BEING TREATED LIKE SHIT.NOBODY AT THE CLUB WITH ANY AUTHORITY SEEMS TO CARE JACK SHIT.WOULD SOME BODY OF SUPPORTERS NEED TO ORGANISE A DEMONSTRATION.THE YANKS INVESTMENT IS COMING ALONG NICELY SO HE DOESN’T CARE IF WE WIN A TROPHY OR NOT.DEMONSTRATE U PATHETIC GOONERS AND GET BACK THE CLUB WE USED TO SUPPORT.

  7. Adah says:

I now know Kreonke and co are not concern about you and me. So lottery will comfort us in the absence of new players? See how gullible we are.

Whot the good news i didin’t see the good news

  9. The good news is to sign quality players especialy depensive midfield

  10. Calm Arsenal Man says:

Spectrum I respectfully disagree. I would blame Kroenke or even Gazidas before Arsene. http://arseblog.com/2013/08/on-kroenke-by-an-american-arsenal-fan/

  11. Ted says:

For Gooners, Wenger leaving Arsenal is equivalent to Arsenal winning a UCL! I hope that day will come soon!

  12. Ben HW says:

I don’t blame Wenger. Arsenal downhill spiral can be traced back to kroenke taking over. They have money, they say it just to draw money from fans, but Stingy Stan wont even cast a penny. Negotiations with the signing of contracts is managed by the hierarchy, The manager is to just finalise the deal. blame the board and lawyers for arsenal’s gloom.
also if wenger can keep players, arsenal would be a top 2 squad. for the past 10 years, He had to rebuild the core and spine of the team, u have to give wenger alittle credit for keeping the gunners in top 4 positions and qualifying into the champion league

  14. Jarren says:

Monsieur Wenger is the right man for Arsenal, I think all true Gunners know this even still.

The problem lies with prospective players.

Arsenal are now seen as a dangerous team to sign for.

They won’t sign players who aren’t Champions League material, obviously.

    The fans would be dismayed.

At the same time, Champions League class players are worried that Arsenal will do their usual thing and fluff their lines.

    What to do…

    Has Henry retired?

  15. doctore says:

Jarren, monsieur Wenger hasn’t been that man in a very long time,I think its time he left in a respectful manner just like sir Alex did at the current rate he might destroy his legacy before he leaves; Calm Arsenal man, that attitude is exactly the reason why we are where we’re at today, blame anyone and everyone but Wenger when its all obviously his fault

  16. “The greatest trick the Devil ever pulled was convincing the world he didn’t exist.” Has the Board and Wenger pulled a Keyser Soze on the fans and fooled us all into thinking there was ever £70 million transfer fund for players? They’ve spent nothing whilst most of the other teams have, even newly promoted Cardiff City have spent £30M on players, can you believe it! It’s a disgrace how the club is being run more like business than a football club aiming to win trophies.

It just shows they have no ambition or motivation to return to the glory days. We will always be playing catch up with Man U, City and Chelsea if money isn’t invested in new signings and will continue to struggle to even finish 4th. Our 1st team is good and could beat anyone on their day, but it’s not about winning one or two games, Cardiff has even shown anyone can be beaten on a given day, it’s about consistency and maintaining form which Man U showed last season when they weren’t the greatest side but kept on winning to clinch the title. And for that you need a proper squad of 1st team players, it’s just amazing the fans can see what needs to be done and not the club itself!
