The Southampon fire-sale continues with centre-half Dejan Lovren the latest Saint to jump ship ahead of the new season. The Croatian centre-half follows former Southampton team-mates Rickie Lambert and Adam Lallana to Liverpool in a move worth £20million to the south coast side.
The 25-year-old enjoyed an impressive 2013/14 campaign with Southampton, who have already seen their manager and, at the last count, three other first team players moves to pastures new.
While always looking potent in attack, Brendan Rodgers’ backline never totally convinced and the addition of Lovren is sure to please Liverpool fans. As for poor old Ronald Koeman, his first season in charge at St. Mary’s could be quite a difficult one indeed.[Not a valid template]
