The biggest news of the deadline day so far: Reading have tied up a short-term deal for Yakubu, with the former Portsmouth and Everton legend signing on loan for the rest of the season after his brief spell at Qatari club Al Rayyan came to an end recently…

Huge.

Still only 32-years-old according to his (admittedly Nigerian) birth certificate – can you Adam & Eve that?

Wow, his neck is as big as a Yaks. That’s one strong looking fella.

  2. Straight Dave says:

Presumably Al Rayyan ran out of food, hence the move?

ah the Yak-ster! Signed by Moysie for £12m… a few years later a £4m January bid from West Ham was rejected, so in the infinite wisdom of the Everton board room, he spent the next 6 months out the team, picking up £40k a week, before being sold to Blackburn for £1.5m the following summer. Genius transfer dealings indeed!
