The good news is just stacking up for Liverpool fans at the moment. Following a crushing 6-1 final day defeat against Stoke in Steven Gerrard’s last game for the club comes the bulletin from France that inbound signing Divock Origi has found his way into the Ligue 1 ‘worst team of the season’.

Liverpool chucked £10million at Lille for Origi on the back of one half-decent performance at the 2014 World Cup and promptly sent him back on loan for the 2014/15 season where the 20-year-old Belgian forward scored eight times in 33 games as Lille lolloped their way to an eighth-placed finish.

However, as they always do, L’Equipe have crunched the numbers and found that Origi, with an average match rating of just 4.46 (out of ten), has made it into their worst XI of the season…

Origi’s dreadful stats probably have something to do with the fact that he went for five whole months without scoring between October and March. Looks like he’ll fit in nicely at Anfield with that kind of prowess.

Still, Liverpool fans shouldn’t be overly concerned. They still have Mario Balotelli waiting in the wings, and he’s been busy posting things like this to Instagram…

Right you are Mario. We used to love Knightmare too.
