Not only is he currently being probed by CONMEBOL but it also looks like Gonzalo Jara is on the verge of finding himself out of a job on the domestic front too.

The defender caused uproar during Chile’s recent Copa America win over Uuruguay when he gave Edinson Cavani a complimentary, though very much unsolicited oil-check with an hour of the match gone.

Unsurprisingly, Cavani didn’t take to kindly to Jara waggling a finger up his crevice and was subsequently shown a red card for his admirably restrained reaction.

Jara’s employers, Bundesliga side Mainz, have since announced that the player has been put up for immediate sale, priced to clear, after the club were appalled at his general conduct during the Uruguay game.

“He knows that if an offer comes, he can go,” Mainz sporting director Christian Heidel ranted to BILD.

“We do not tolerate that. More than the prod, however, it is what comes afterwards that makes me angry. I hate theatrics more than anything.”

Hear hear.
