West Ham owner David Gold has certainly suffered his fair share of high-profile Twitter gaffes in the past few years.
Whether publicly favouriting Tweets about sacking his manager (and then blaming jet lag) or welcoming the arrival of one black player with a photo of another, old Goldie certainly has a clanger or two in him.
Indeed, his latest error has seen Gold retweet a ‘missing person’ plea sent to him from a fan.
The keen-eyed among you might just recognise the face…
Oblivious to the fact that the man in the photo is West Ham winger Michail Antonio, the Hammers chairman simply assumed he was doing somebody a good turn and immediately retweeted the post…
However, the “missing person” in question just so happens to be a man on whom Gold spent/wasted £7million to acquire from Nottingham Forest a little over two months ago.
You could perhaps forgive Gold for not having a clue what Antonio looks like given that he’s played just 30 minutes of first-team football for the Hammers since joining on deadline day, but still…
