Good morning, Vietnam!

Manchester City’s top brass have had their collective heads turned by Werder Bremen starlet Mesut Özil and are hoping to have a deal in place for the German international midfielder before the World Cup gets underway in June.

With both Martin Petrov and Craig Bellamy being linked with Eastlands exits this summer, the City owners see the winger as the perfect man to slot into the left-sided role that will soon be vacated by the seemingly outbound duo.

Özil is known to be widely courted right across Europe and should he impress in South Africa, a frenzy of interest could be sparked – which has prompted City into opening preliminary talks with Bremen in an attempt to tie up a deal for the 21-year-old midfielder before he potentially raises his profile even further this summer.

Here’s the obligatory video…

  1. Jesus says:

There’s no chance he’s gonna go somewhere where they’ll play him LW IMO. He’s one of the most promising Attacking Midfield Playmakers in the world out there.
