Liverpool’s Serbian attacker Lazar Markovic has moved to Hull on loan for the rest of the season.

The ex-Partizan Belgrade winger joined Liverpool from Benfica for a sizeable £20m in 2014 but has struggled to make his mark an Anfield.

The 22-year-old netted just three goals in his 19 appearances with the Merseysiders in 2014/15 and was sent out on loan to Fenerbahce by Brendan Rodgers the following season.

With Jurgen Klopp not offering Markovic a way back into the Liverpool squad ahead of this season, the Serbian international started the campaign back in Portugal, having agreed a loan deal with Sporting.

However, after just six appearances, the deal was cancelled by mutual consent.

Now Markovic will be hoping to kickstart his career back in England with Hull, where’ll he’ll be working under Portuguese boss Marco Silva, who managed Estoril when his new-signing was lining out for Benfica.

Undoubtedly a talented player, and still young, Markovic now has a good chance to show the Premier League what he can do again and help move Hull away from the drop-zone.
