Forever linked with a move to Arsenal, William Carvalho looks on the verge of moving to West Ham with the Hammers close to getting their man for a reported £30m.

West Ham have already had one bid of £25m rejected, but now manager Slaven Bilic is confident of finally getting his man.

A powerful defensive midfielder, the 25-year-old Carvalho played a key role in Portugal’s Euro 2016 success and has made 37 appearances for his national team, scoring just the once in that time.

With Sporting, Carvalho has racked up 154 appearances, netting 10 times for the Portuguese giants.

A player with immense physical presence (and a fine moustache), Carvalho has been linked with Arsene Wenger’s Arsenal for a number of seasons.

However, now it looks as though the big man is heading to the east end rather than north London, with the £30m fee pretty reasonable in the current market.

If he does sign, Carvalho will follow Marko Arnautovic, Javier Hernandez and Joe Hart to the London Stadium this summer, as Bilic looks to strengthen a West Ham side who found themselves outclassed and outmuscled at Old Trafford on Sunday.

A fine moustache indeed. It puts years on him though.

The Hammers will benefit from his inclusion, as long as he can adapt to the constant intensity of the PL.

Time to put his money where is moustache is.
