Barcelona have confirmed that they’ve reached an agreement with Bayern Munich to take Arturo Vidal off the latter’s hands.

While Vidal still has to undergo a medical, Barca have announced that the Chilean midfielder has signed a three-year contract and that the transfer will hopefully be made formal over the course of the next few days.

The fee Bayern stand to receive is reported to be €30million, which is a sliver under £27million.

“We will shortly inform everyone about the arrival of the player and the agenda of the presentation ceremony,” reads the latest update on Barca’s club website.

As previously mentioned, Inter Milan were known to be in talks with Vidal but broke them off last week in order to pursue their hopelessly misguided dreams of cherry-picking Luka Modric from Real Madrid.

In fairness to the Nerazzurri, that particular prospective transfer isn’t 100% dead in the water, but Real have gone and stuck a €750million stumbling block in the way just to make things difficult.
