WoodgatePoll.JPGIt might be a little premature given that are still 93 years worth of transfer flops to come, but readers of Spanish newspaper Marca have voted Jonathan Woodgate as the worst signing of the 21st Century.
The £13.7 million Real Madrid signing, now with Middlesbrough, became a little too acquainted with the Bernabeu’s treatment room for the Marca readers’ liking. It took Woodgate 13 months to make his Real debut because of injury. And he only made 14 competitive starts during his two years with them. Woodgate was the runaway winner of the poll with 37 per cent of the vote, ahead of the like of fellow Real flop Elvir Baljic (10 per cent) and Barca no-hoper Phillipe Christanval. [Via The Sun]
