Fenerbache have signed promising Chelsea winger Miroslav Stoch for an undisclosed fee.

The 20-year-old Slovakian international, who spent a highly-impressive spell (10 goals in 32 games) on-loan at Eredivisie champions FC Twente last season, has put pen to paper on a four-year deal with the Turkish giants.

Seems like a bit of a strange choice on Chelsea’s part to me.

Stoch was outstanding for Steve McClaren‘s title-winning Twente side last season and was surely ripe for a run out in the Chelsea first team next term.

It would have made sense to me to give him a chance to prove his worth at Stamford Bridge after performing so consistently well in Holland, although I suppose it all depends on how significant the ‘undisclosed fee’ was.

what! unless the fee was considerable (which i doubt) why let one of the few highly promising youngsters go!? makes no sense to me at all. we might as well let kakuta, matic and all the rest go seeing as we dont have any faith in the youth team.

    Did Abramovich go bankrupt?

the fee was €9m according to turkish papers

I saw him in action on a weekly basis last season, he looked very promising. Although I dunno how he would’ve fared against the bigger and stronger defender in the EPL. I guess now we’ll never know. Well not any time soon it appears. It’s a same, Twente would’ve really loved to have had him another season. Maybe that was a better thing to do. One more year of ripening in the Eredivisie then back to Chelsea. Afterall, didn’t Ancelotti say he wanted to integrate more homegrown talent into the first team. This Stoch kid’s got talent, strange they let him go.
