So David Beckham missed out on picking up his first trophy Stateside. Instead, he picked up a potentially serious knee injury, which may jeopardise his involvement in England’s Euro 2008 qualifiers in September. Doh! says Steve McClaren and the rest of us.
Becks was substituted after twisting his knee in a block tackle (see it at about 2mins 13sec into the video). ‘At this stage it’s hard to tell, but it doesn’t feel good,’ he said. ‘A ligament strain is four to six weeks but we’ll have to wait for the results of the scan on Friday. If it is four to six, I won’t be flying to England.’
Full match highlights are below and well worth watching. Listen to how many times the commentator (who is awesome) says ‘Gol!’ after Pachuca open the scoring through an own goal. And look out for Chris Klein’s superb equaliser in stoppage time, after some comedy head tennis in the box:

I watched the game and I did not like the way Pachuca put it on cruise control half way through the second half, just like there last game against Houston which resulted in PK. Pachuca are a far better team but they shouldn’t underestimate an MLS team since those teams are still proffesional and not some teenagers. Galaxy took advantage at the end of the game. Close game at the end.
