76592176.jpgEngland’s hopes of reaching next year’s European Championships are slim and none with practically our only hope pinned on Israel to get a result against Russia on Saturday.
How it all came to fall out of our hands we don’t know but a home draw against Macedonia, a divot in Croatia and failing to get a draw on a plastic pitch in Russia after leading will all be looked back on with regret.
So now, everyone will be rooting Israel on come the weekend – they are already out of qualification so only time will tell how motivated they will be. But, they have a decent home record and Premier League imports like Yossi Benayoun will be looking to become national heroes if they can twist England’s fate once more, although any result still means we’ll have to beat Croatia in our final game.
