Striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic took a parting shot at Barcelona head coach Pep Guardiola after agreeing a move to AC Milan. Unlike most of his shots for Barca, this one hit the target…

“Guardiola is the philosopher who has shattered my dream to play with Barcelona,” Ibrahimovic said.

“When I enter a room Guardiola leaves – I don’t know if he’s scared of me or what. Speak to him, he’s the one who has the problem. I don’t know what it is.

“Right now I’m very happy because I’m going to Milan. In football everything can change in 24 hours. It’s the end Guardiola wanted.”

The Swedish forward will join Milan on a year’s loan initially, with the option of a €24 million transfer thereafter. That’s the plan, but it’s dependent on Zlatan’s huge ego of course.

Zlatan flopped at Barcelona (there was no place for him on the pitch, nor in the dressing room – so the player is right to say that Guardiola couldn’t figure out a way to get the best of him), but he thrived at Inter not so long ago and undoubtedly has the ability to shine for Milan’s other team.

Everyone seems to have lost out here – with the notable exception of inter, who appear to have managed alright without him. Why the hell did Barca buy ibra? Guardiola clearly didnt want him, and it’s not like they were lacking fire power upfront. Seems more of a knee-jerk reaction to Madrid’s spending: anything you can do, we can do too sort of thing. Only barca go on about how they DON”T buy superstars, they make them, so getting slightly mixed messages. If anyone has inside information on this very weird piece of transfer business/fancies some idle speculation, I’d be interested to hear it.

this is kind of petty, but you mis-spelled ‘best’. unless pep was trying to extract a young lady named ‘besy’ out of a tall, heron like swedish man.

oh and sign ibra was stupid to begin with, they didn’t need the extra style they needed a hit man, they had one and sold him and have spent quite a lot of money making a mistake and fixing it.

  4. J says:

no more magic upfront for barça. I mean, whoever you’ve got on the attack, Z.I. is a must, for all the brilliance. Sad, but curious on how these three immensely spontaneous players will cope together (Zlatan, Ronaldinho and Seedorf) and how many assits will pirlo get with such a trap master upfront.

  5. Jose Mourinho says:

This transfer was in my opinion the biggest reason why Inter won the CL.

It stopped Inter being a one man team, they got Eto’o plus £40m, with which they bought Sneijder, Milito and Pandev with over £10m to spare, absolutely CRAZY!

I still think Ibra is a quality player and it’s never the player’s fault how much teams play for them and his first season wasn’t that bad.

Barca’s transfers in 2009 were absolutely dogshit, bought Ibra for £40m + Eto’o then sold for £20m, bought Chygrynskiy for £21m then less than 12 months later sell him for £12m, good job Pep.

And they still managed to be one goal away from what would have been the easiest of CL finals for them. And 99p in the league.

This goon going from Ajax to Inter, to Barcelona to Inter’s hated rival Milan shows how much of a squad player he is.

Zlatan’s ego is bigger than his nose.

    @ Montesquieu
From Ajax to Juventus, then to Inter. Don’t forget how he just fled Juve after they were relegated, going to one of their biggest rivals. Also believe he forced his way out of Ajax, first… Seems just the right guy to have in your locker room for morale. Wonder why City didn’t buy him…

  9. daniel says:

I agree with zlatan that a great trainer talks about problems and a less great one avoid them.

Some of you are saying that Zlatan has a big ego and that might be true. But this big ego also gives 200% for every club he plays. And for being such a big ego he server delicate passes to his team players which isnt exactly what ego nr 2 messi does (dont misunderstand me but i like messi). He also have extremely high demands on him self.

Last year he scored 21 goals even though injured and not playing more than 45 min in the end. He also broke the record on scoring goals in a row.

If you are a big player you can afford to believe in yourself which might be seen as having a big ego.

Stop hating people and start seing the world in more nuanced tones. Zlatan – if you understand swedish has great humor – and when he says he will win everything and that he is best he partly is joking but than maybe doesn’t translate when he speaks english.

  10. kenzel says:

i bet inter are laughing right now all that money plus etoo who is a better goal scorer than ibra…..
