Manchester City are reportedly already drawing up plans to rid themselves of yet more of their meaningless millions in January, by beating Spanish powerhouses Barcelona and Real Madrid to the signing of Palermo’s Argentine starlet Javier Pastore.

According to this morning’s Gazzetta dello Sport, City have been targeting Pastore – dubbed ‘The Argentinian Kaka’ – for some time, but have been told by Palermo president Maurizio Zamperini that they will have to stump up €50 million (£41 million) if they are serious about snagging the 21-year-old playmaker.

Zamperini is apparently chasing the big bucks as Palermo owe a third-party agency around €12m as part of the deal that originally took Pastore to the Rosanero from Huracan last season.

Here’s a little look at what £41 million gets you these days (featuring a rather chirpy metal-lite reworking of a Pet Shop Boys classic)…

is there anything there that tevez, johnson, or david silva can’t do? including the theatrics. apparently this guy played for argentina during the world cup.

in 100 yrs time we’ll look back and see the most pathetic thing of our time was these 10min youtube clips made by fanboys that are supposed to make all these totally mediocre players seem like they’re lionel messi.

although seem clips really fail at that. like this one for instance.

pastore is quality but this video is not. its all fancy moves with no end product

I’ve never seen him play except for the 5 minute cameo during the world cup, but he was massive in FM10..

@Deckard & dc: Sadly, this is the best example of Pastore in action that I could find.

yes, if he really was the guy with all the messi moves they would’ve made a video leaving all that out and making look like a clumsy fool instead. but let city throw their money away, look how happy david silva is in.

I’ve been playing football for about two months now, and i’m pretty sure I can pull off everything that pastore did in that video with the same amount of quality (or lack there of) by fluking it. Man City should just give me 50 mil to run around like a goof and not score.

Anybody who have watched Palermo this season (and thus knowing what the fuck they’re talking about) knows that Pastore is quality. £41 million quality? Not really, but he could well be one day. £41 million is just a number in ManCity anways.
